Wardrobes and Chests of Drawers Built for a Kid's Room — Not a Scaled-Down Adult One

Kids' wardrobes need to hit two things adult ones don't: a low hanging rail a four-year-old can reach, and rounded edges at face height. Our storage comes from European makers such as BusyKids, Petinka, Luula and Sweet HOME from Wood. Everything in this collection ships flat-packed but uses cam-lock hardware and pre-drilled holes that go together cleanly the first time.

What to look for:

  • Hanging rail height — a low rail (around 100 cm) lets a 3-year-old hang their own coat; an adjustable or two-tier rail grows with them
  • Drawer slides — soft-close metal runners last; plastic runners fail within two years of daily use
  • Tip-over safety — every wardrobe over 80 cm tall ships with a wall anchor strap, which we recommend installing on day one
  • Material — solid pine front panels with melamine carcasses balance budget and durability; full-pine pieces are available at the higher end

Most wardrobes in this collection are 80–120 cm wide and 160–180 cm tall, sized for a typical kids' bedroom.
